The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
“The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all". The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly (UN-GA) and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030. They are included in a UN-GA Resolution called the 2030 Agenda or what is colloquially known as Agenda 2030. The SDGs were developed in the Post-2015 Development Agenda as the future global development framework to succeed the Millennium Development Goals which ended in 2015.”
Guided by Sustainable Development Goals, it is now up to all of us: governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone.
EPEIOS INITIATIVES
Since we started EPEIOS in 2020, our mission has been to offer convenient, innovative, and experience-driven smart home appliances, while our vision is to accelerate the realization of a sustainable world.
When defining our mission and vision, we prioritized our contribution to the SDGs according to the direct and indirect impact we make on the issues they raise and by selecting the relevant SDGs targets based on our current situation.

[7 Affordable and Clean Energy]
Sustainable Moulded Pulp Instead of Plastic
Moulded (or molded) pulp is a highly sustainable packaging material that is made from renewable and biodegradable resources like recycled paper. As it features in lower cost, more environmental friendly, and lighter, using moulded pulp will be helpful for lower power consumption, hence energy saving. EPEIOS decided to use moulded pulp on our new products as one of our small effort to bring affordable and clean energy.

EPEIOS believes that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities, including political, economic and social equality. Therefore, we are working to create a financially and mentally rewarding workplace that allows each EPEIOS stakeholder to play an active role regardless of gender and realize a true work-life balance. We have not, and will not, ever limit anyone because of his or her gender; we do not assume anyone performs less because of their ability to birth or raise a child. Through these efforts, we strive to contribute to gender equality, job satisfaction, and eventually economic growth.

Smarter and More-Sustainable Package
Packaging is ubiquitous in our daily lives. With new advances to packaging, it can better minimize waste while protecting the products inside. However, widespread usage of single-use packaging, including cardboard and vanity boxes, has placed a heavy burden on the environment. In order to reduce waste as much as possible and utilize the world’s limited resources, we have, and continue to, adhere to a purpose that prioritizes “simplified design, not only aesthetically but by the material used”. In addition to lightweighting and downgauging, we are focusing our sustainability efforts on recreating and redesigning our packaging. For instance, the packaging box of the EPEIOS HM702A Air Circulator can be recontextualized and used as a temporary house for cats. The push to go “Plastic Free” is another sustainability action that we are currently pursuing.
Though what we do and the impact on society may still be small, we want to start by doing small things and take a positive attitude toward the future.
